A downloadable game for Windows and Linux

Hello and welcome to Crabvania, where you plunge into the depths of the ocean and watch as the world around you becomes more and more degenerate (it's kind of like growing up)!

Crabvania is a casual 2D adventure game that tries to be Metroidvania, and you can play it by your lonesome or watch as your buddy plays it as you crack open a cold one, or tell your little brother that you'll give him the controls later but you never will because he's probably too young to see the depravity of the dev team (Pegi-12). You'll understand once you play the game.

You play as a cute little crab that can switch shells, jump from platform to platform, defy the laws of nature by burning underwater seaweed, and ABSOLUTELY ANNIHILATE ITS ENEMIES. And more!

Ever wondered what it's like "unda da sea" after the world has gone to shit? Time to find out!

Install instructions

For Windows, extract the files from the folder and run the .exe. It should work with that, but you may have to pass a smartscreen or possible firewall restrictions for it to run.

For Linux, double click or run the x86_64 file. If it doesn't work you may need to mark it as executable. God help you if it still doesn't work.

This was fun, although I think the hitboxes for the melee enemies were a bit too big (I kept getting hits even though I was a bit above them on another level of the platform) and viewing the papers and items was rather finicky. The artstyle was really lovely - the idle animation for the crab is brilliant - and overall I enjoyed the gameplay. Nice work, erakkoravut!

Good game, but sadly the thing at the end didnt help opening the door at the start at all, which deeply saddens me :-/

aside from that lovely litle game, would have just loved to get and see everything :-)

There is only crab.
